Structure and Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles presents a selection of 100 works by approximately 25 of the most influential fiber artists, textile designers, and fashion designers currently working in Japan. Together, these artists and designers have revived and reinterpreted ancient Japanese craft traditions while creating something entirely fresh and specific to the late 20th century.
Nuno exhibited 21 fabrics and sells Nuno original products, such as scarves, at the Museum Store and at The Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis 18 June 1999 – 15 August 1999. The exhibition will travel onto Montreal, Akron (Ohio), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Kunstgewerbe Museum in Frankfurt, and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
